New Year's Nails

Happy New Year everyone! I don't know about you, but I'm glad to be out of 2016. Not that it was a horrible year, it was a great year! I'm just extra excited for 2017. I am currently in Osaka, Japan for New Year's Day! My amazing husband got us tickets to Osaka for my Christmas present. 💕 I hope you all celebrate the new year safely! This is one of the few times that I actually match my toes with my finger nails. Usually, I pick a design for my toes and then pick a design for my nails. And usually, they don't match. But this time I thought, maybe I should start the new year strong with a matching mani and pedi! 💪 My inspiration for this mani was found on Pinterest. I do not know who the original design came from. So, if you know, let me know! What I love about this mani is how the clock reaches on to three adjacent nails. I am not sure I have ever done a design like that. But I love how it turned out! The polishes I used are listed below...
Black base: Sally Hansen - Black Heart
White: Sally Hansen - Hard to Get
Black striper: Art Deco - Black
Silver striper: Sally Hansen I Hear Nail Art Striper - Silver Argent
Red dots: Orly - Haute Red

Christmas Water Marble

I always forget how messy and annoying water marbling is. I can never get the technique right, nor do I choose the right polishes that work well together. The red polish that I used worked great, but the green polish I used was not the best choice. But I only have like ten colors here with me, so I did the best I could. My husband thought they were cool, so that's a plus. I'm definitely behind in the nail polish game, because I do not have the peel off stuff that you put around your nails so that you don't make a huge mess. I still use Scotch tape, which is a pain, because sometimes they stick to your nails, and then you ruin the white base coat, and you just question everything in life. Luckily, they turned out well enough for me to want to post them on all my social media platforms. Even though they look like I did some finger painting with a five-year-old and just put a few snowflake stickers on them and called it good. But who's to judge? Thanks for reading this weird post about how I struggled with water marbling. I hope you all have a Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and a Happy New Year! *All the polishes I used are the same as the ones I used for my Elf Nails post.

Elf Nails

My very first nail post! These adorable elf nails were inspired by I Scream Nails! I saw this nail art on their Instagram page @iscreamnails. I always love their colorful and cute nail art. Since it is the holiday season, I thought these elf nails were perfect! And, as I am living in Okinawa currently, I only have the few polishes that I brought with me. (The rest are in storage in the states. 😭) The colors I used are listed below..

Polishes
Green: China Glaze - In the Lime Light
Red: Orly - Haute Red
White: Sally Hansen - Hard to Get
Gold: Revlon Brilliant Strength - Hypnotize
Black striper: Art Deco - Black
Sparkles on pinky: Revlon Transforming Effects - Cosmic Flakes

Welcome!

Hello everyone!

My name is Remy. Sounds like ray-me. Hence the name do-re-mi. (You know, like the song.. Doe, a deer, a female deer. Ray, a drop of golden sun. Me, a name, I call myself.) Anyway, this is my very first blog, so bear with me. I am starting this blog, because I love nail art and painting my nails, and I just want to share my love with all of you! I hope you enjoy my blog. Thanks for reading!

Sincerely,
Remy
